C O N T E N T M E N T

Contentment
A thing easier said than felt
A feeling that comes and leaves all too quickly.
It's funny how quickly we can catch ourselves looking to what we don't have, what the future holds, the trips we'll take, the work we'll do.
We forget to be content in whatever state we are in.
Right now is what we have
Today is the day that we get to live
Live it with full contentment
Enjoy each moment. The good and terrible. The joys and sorrows.
The encouragement and frustrations.
I'm so guilty of this myself.
It's easy to think of the things that we think we should have, but don't
The things we believe that we deserve, which we don't
When Paul said "I have learned to be content in whatever state I am in, whether I have plenty or little,.." He really meant it. He found a great thing when he found contentment.
 "Now godliness with contentment is great gain."
Whoa.
When I read that I realized something.
I have been searching to find fulfillment in things that really don't matter.
It doesn't matter how I look
What I wear
Who likes me
Who doesn't
It doesn't matter because I have realized that true value can only be found in Him.
There is nothing in this world that fill us.
It doesn't say good clothes with contentment is great gain
Or lots of money with contentment is great gain
Or many friends with contentment is great gain.
No
It says " g o d l i n e s s with contentment is GREAT GAIN."

All for His glory,

Lord, I need you.

On December 22, 2013,
The Lord, in His infinite wisdom, took home to himself in glory,
My sweet baby sister.
Sweet Daphne Noelle never had to feel the cold.
She never had to hurt.
She never had to cry.
She never had to hunger.
She  is  free.
She is safe and sound in Jesus' arms.
Free from this world,
it's sadness,
it's hurt.
Free to praise her Savior,
forever
and ever.

It hurts so much.
For us.
We long so deeply to hold her.
To cuddle her.
To watch her learn and grow.
To see all that she would be.

But what a comfort it is;
A ribbon of hope
amidst the sadness and pain,
That we will see her again.
One day we will see her and praise our heavenly Father
together
forever.

"God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
    and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
 though its waters roar and foam
    and the mountains quake with their surging.
 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
    the holy place where the Most High dwells.
 God is within her, she will not fall;
    God will help her at break of day.
 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
    he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us;

  the God of Jacob is our fortress

Come and see what the Lord has done

the desolations he has brought on the earth

He makes wars cease

 to the ends of the earth.

He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;

 he burns the shields with fire.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;

 I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth.”

The Lord Almighty is with us;

the God of Jacob is our fortress."

sufficient.

Yesterday, my sister Chantel and I spent 6 hours painting our room.
I'll be posting more pictures later of before and after :)
It was a lot of work, but I'm sooo happy with the results!

Forever

The LORD is my shepherd;
         I shall not want.
  He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
         He leads me beside the still waters.
  He restores my soul;
         He leads me in the paths of righteousness
         For His name’s sake.

 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
         I will fear no evil;
         For You are with me;
         Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
         You anoint my head with oil;
         My cup runs over.
  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
         All the days of my life;

  And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
         Forever.
         Psalm 23

Spring.

It's snowing.
Yeah, you heard that right.
The birds are singing so sweetly, you look out the window, and BAM it's snowing.
Oh well! There's a reason for everything! :)
(But I'm sure looking forward to sunshine!)

" Wait on the Lord, and be of good courage and he shall strengthen your heart."
Psalm 27:14

Trust

I like how this guy thinks. The world around us is constantly pressuring for us to find a boyfriend and to do whatever it takes to do so.
It's relieving to know that God has my future all planned out for me. I just need to listen to Him and live in a way that honours Him.
We don't have to live life worrying about what others think.
We don't have to cave to the pressures that the others give.
 We need to trust that God has our future in His hands,
because He does! :)
