eighteen.

I can't believe it. Today is my eighteenth birthday! As I look back over the years, I am simply in awe of God's mercy, providence, and love. It's so tremendously amazing.
I am so thankful!

With a brand new year ahead, my prayer is that I might be bold and let my light shine
I know it'll be a challenge, but I know that with God's help, I can do it.
I struggle greatly with voicing my opinion.
I'm kinda shy.
I want to slowly crack that shell,
And shine bright.

So, here's to a brand new year.
To the memories to be made.
To the future and all it holds.

Thank you dear readers, for continuing to follow me, even though I'm awful at keeping up with it.
I really do appreciate you.
Every comment, makes my day.
I love you guys!

Strive.

Last night I had my first soccer practice! It went better than expected :)
I really think that this is going to be an awesome season.
I love soccer.
It's really one of those few things that I really push myself to get better at.
I don't really know why.
I think it's the adrenaline behind racing after the ball, steering it towards the goal.
This year will be my first year on a league.
I'm not the best player out there,
but I will get better.
I'll push myself.
I'll fight the pain,
I'll fight the second-guessing of my belonging on the team,
I will strive to my best for His namesake.

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

Tomorrow

I was having a really hard time lately.
Two of my very closest friends moved all the way to Georgia to go to college.
It's hard not having them here in person.
Thank God for Skype and Facebook!
With them gone to college, it really got to me the fact that I could go to college.
I could be with them right now.
But I'm not.
It struck me that God has this plan that he's slowly revealing to me.
He proves to me every. single. day. that He has a plan for me.
I've come to realize that maybe right at this very moment in my life,
I'm not called to go to school.
I've heard it over and over and over again.
"Sarah why aren't you going to school?"
"Don't you want to do anything?"
"Aren't you interested in like anything?"
I've come to the point where I don't need to think about
what others have planned for my life.
I don't need to feel bad for not going to school.
Right now.
That's what I need to focus on
And who knows, maybe next year I'll go to school.
Maybe in 5 years.
God's timing is always perfect.
Always.

What do you think?

I'm not sure if this sweater is the best match for this dress. What's your opinion? What coloured cardigan would look good?

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered,
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish motives,
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies,
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you,
Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years building, someone might destroy overnight,
Build it anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous,
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people may forget tomorrow,
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough,
Give them your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

The Future

Hello blogging world!
I'm still alive!

My life has consisted of school, school, and more school in these past weeks. This week is my LAST week of school! I cannot wait to be done!
I am so excited to see what God has in store for my future.
I just need to trust Him. :)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
~ Jeremiah 29:11

p.s. I hope to be back to posting more regularly as soon as school is done :)
Thank you so much for sticking around! You haven't a clue just how much it means to me!

Long time, no see

Shirt: Bootlegger, Skirt: Rw&Co, Tights: Joe Fresh

Things have been exceptionally busy around my household lately. First of all because of the regular, everyday necessities and chores. Secondly, because we've all been sick with the worst kind of cold. ( When a sickness hits our house, it's like a pandemic). Thirdly, and most of all because today my Mom is due to have the newest addition to our family.
Yup, baby #10 is coming any day!
Crazy, right?!
It's been so exciting getting everything ready for the newest bundle of joy!
I cannot wait! :)
Right now I have 5 brothers and 3 sisters, so it's extraordinarily exciting to see if the little nugget is a new brother or sister. :)

p.s. Sorry for the lack of posts lately. My computer broke, but it's all fixed now. :)

True Beauty

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others:
For beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness:

Be the difference.

Women of God can never be like women of the world.
The world has enough women who are tough;
we need women who are tender.
There are enough women who are coarse;
we need women who are kind.
There are enough women who are rude;
we need women who are refined.
We have enough women of fame and fortune;
we need more women of faith.
We have enough greed;
we need more goodness.
We have enough vanity;
we need more virtue.
We have enough popularity;
we need more purity.

In Every Moment

In happy moments praise God.
In difficult moments seek God.
In the quiet moments trust God.
In every moment thank God.
~ Unknown

 We go from one moment to another so quickly. Most of the time you only notice how fast they go by until you look back.
There are moments that we wish we could relive.
There are moments we are glad are long gone.
There are moments we look forward to living.
Moments sure are precious, make the most of them.

p.s. I really need to take pictures that don't involve bookcases. Sorry about that.

Count your blessings.

Shirt: Yard sale, Skirt: RW&Co, Flats: Naturalizer

The other day I was having a rough day. Things were not going my way and my head was flooded with thoughts and worries.
My 5 year old brother comes up to me and states " Sarah, why aren't you smiling?"
I say " Well, I don't feel like smiling right now."
He replies " Please smile now, I like it when you smile."
My heart melted!
It got me thinking of how much I have to smile about.
I have an awesome family, a warm house, plenty of food, way to many clothes... I could go on forever!
I am going to strive to count my blessings; my many reasons to put a smile on my face.
There is always a reason to rejoice.
There is always a reason to smile.
Find that reason!

A Part of Me

Sweater: RW&Co, Jeans: Forever21, Socks: Joe Fresh, Boots: Nautralizer

When my whole family goes to town, it's really interesting to hear all of the reactions of the people that see us all.
The two things that are usually said to my parents are...

"Wow! That is so neat to see! You never see that now a days!"

or it's,

"Are you nuts! That's just wrong" etc...

I love having a big family. I wouldn't change that for the world.
So many people just don't understand how awesome it is.
Don't get me wrong, there are times when having my things stolen, broken, and/or lost can be frustrating, but it pales in comparison to the joys of being the oldest of a big family.
The joys like your little 1 year old brother running up to you for a hug, or your little sister asking you to pick out her clothes for the day or do her hair, or having a little brother ask you to kiss his boo boo better...
I could go on :)
I am SO thankful that God has put me in the place I am.
It's, to put it mildly...

Awesome.

Breaks = Awesome

So I've been real busy this week doing things that I have been trying to do for sooooo long. Usually we don't really take too much of a break off from school for the holiday season, but this this year we took a 2 week long break. It was much needed :)

I am so happy with how this apron turned out. I love it when I actually finish a project.
( I put the pro in procrastination)

I found two basic tees at Superstore for $5 each so I decided to try refashioning them into something more exciting.

Let me introduce myself....

My name is Sarah
I am the oldest of 9 kids.... and I don't mean goats.
I was born and still currently live and work on a dairy farm somewhere up in Canada.
( ya, the place where we live in igloos and ride polar bears :)
I'm home schooled and will be graduating this spring.
I love God with everything I am and strive to bring glory to Him in everything I do.

So that pretty much sums up my life.
Pretty interesting, eh?

Anyways... welcome to my life :)
 why don't ya take your coat off and stay awhile?
